For thoes that think they have what it takes to be a fighter we have a program and some advice for you. To be a fighter it takes hard work, desire, hard work, patience, hard work, dedication, hard work, devotion. Or in other words..
" You have to train to be a fighter, wishing dosen't make fighters" - David Hartsook
Although MMA is an unpredictable sport and anything can happen the majority of fighters will have to start in the Amatures and need 7 to 10 fights to turn Professional. Knowing this we have gathered some information for you benifit.
America Martial Arts Academy (AMAA) and 5 tips to Amatures
1. Find a good gym: A good gym gives you the opprotunity to work on all aspects of your fight game.
AMAA: We offer ground with our BJJ program, striking with our MMA Shootfighting, conditioning.
2. Find your niche: Don't try to learn to much to soon. If you go too fast you end up not learning anything well at all. So pick something you are good at and make that your base branching out as you are get comfortable.
AMAA: We offer different classes for different people. All our program will condition you and focus more time on your specialty.
3. Get into fighting shape: Cardio is King! A fight uses your whole body and whole strength for every punch, kick, and submission. The better shape you are in the more gas in your tank. Fighting is a lifestyle and you will need to make changes in your life to achive your goals.
AMAA: Although we do not expect good health or shape when you come to the Academy and take our classes, We will get you in fightshape . We will be happy to explain our initial physical test and our lifestyle expectation when you come in if you want to be a fighter..... WE ARE HERE TO HELP!
4. Find a mentor: A good mentor is some one who will keep you motivated and focused for life in the gym and out. Look for some one that can give you knowlege and goals.
AMAA: We have both well enducated instructors and other students/fighters that are more than willing to answer any questions you may have.
5. Keep a positive attitude: MMA is hard work. It is not an overnight evolution, you will have good and bad days. The key is to remember that hard work does pay off and tomorrow is new day.
AMAA: We will push you to be the best you can be. However much we may have to correct or instruct you will always know where your strengths lie. Positive encouragment will always be there when you need it even on your roughest days.
